The Gippsland region is home to a vibrant female football community, with players, clubs and competitions spanning from the Latrobe Valley through to East and West Gippsland. Known for its strong grassroots participation, Gippsland female football provides opportunities for athletes of all ages to develop their skills and compete in local leagues, youth pathways and representative programs. The region fosters a strong sense of community, with clubs, coaches and volunteers playing a vital role in promoting and growing the game. Gippsland’s ongoing commitment to female football development continues to produce talented players, coaches and leaders, contributing to the success of the sport both locally and beyond.

Gippsland League

The Gippsland League is a premier regional sporting competition in Victoria, delivering high-quality football and netball across the Gippsland region. Running alongside the home-and-away season, the League features teams from its member clubs competing across multiple grades, including senior, reserves and junior pathways. Known for its strong community spirit, the Gippsland League is deeply committed to providing clear and supported pathways from junior participation through to senior sport, ensuring athletes can develop, progress and thrive within the region. This commitment to female participation was further strengthened with the introduction of the inaugural Gippsland Women’s representative team, Gippsland Galaxy, creating new high-level opportunities for talented players to represent the region on a broader stage.

Gippsland All Stars

The Gippsland All Stars program offers junior athletes across the region a chance to develop their skills through regional competition. Running from March to July, it serves as a pathway for talent development while promoting participation and growth in sport. Supported by Dahlsens and coordinated by the Gippsland League, the program focuses on fostering opportunities for players and coaches alike.​

Gippsland Power

Gippsland Power programs bring together the region’s most talented young footballers to compete and develop within the AFL Victoria talent pathway system. Operating across multiple age groups, the program provides elite coaching, high-performance training environments and exposure to representative competition. Serving as a key pathway to state and national level football, Gippsland Power plays a vital role in identifying, developing and preparing athletes for opportunities at VFL, AFLW and AFL level, while also fostering leadership, professionalism and strong community connection across the region.
